La Scie is an authentic fishing village situated on 'Iceberg Alley' in central Newfoundland. This won't be just a vacation, but also a cultural experience in an idyllic setting.
Fishing, whale watching, icebergs, boat tours, walking trails, historical & geological haven and plenty more. Easily accessible from all areas in Canada and a scenic drive from Deer Lake and Gander airports.
Paradise on the Ocean vacation home is located on the harbour at La Scie overlooking the open ocean.
The house has been totally renovated so is all new inside. The huge kitchen is well equipped with dishes, pots, pans and appliances, two dining tables with chairs and a huge patio door opens onto a large deck with a spectacular view.
The master bedroom is spacious and has a patio door that leads onto a beautiful private deck -- perfect for morning coffee. All beds are new and good quality.
The bathroom is new, clean and spacious and has a shower/bathtub installed. There are windows on all sides of the house, three sides looking out at the ocean. There is a powder room and laundry room on the main floor. All linen is provided. There is space outside to play safely. The view of the harbour is beautiful, particularly in the evening and the ocean is captivating too.
Cottage Rental Facilities:
Washer, dryer, fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, dishes, pans, pots, cutlery, bedding, towels, patio furniture, radio/CD player, two decks. Newly renovated, the vacation homes has two decks to view the whales and icebergs.

La Scie is located at the head of the Baie Verte Peninsula, between White Bay and Notre Dame Bay on the northeast coast of Newfoundland.
Area Activities & Attractions:
La Scie is a fascinating, authentic fishing community, one of twenty-two on the Baie Verte peninsula. This is a geological paradise, with opportunities to study the history of French and British settlers, enjoy baking, jam-making, fresh fish, quilting, watch boat making or just watch the ocean.
You can take a boat ride, see the icebergs, whales and dolphins. Go fishing, walk the many walking trails in the area. This is a historical and geological paradise, you can learn about the early settlers (and meet their offspring) and experience world renowned geological treasures. Or visit the earliest known soapstone mine in the world or deserted tin mine nearby. Watch boat building, learn about the local crafts, quilting, jam making etc. Talk to the locals and share their music and their art.
