Visit the historic Angel House Heritage Inn for your peace and quiet in the middle of St. John's.
Gardens:
Set back from the road on a one-acre lot, the house has an estate-like quality because of its well-preserved garden with a great variety of trees including apple, cherry, walnut, chestnut, elm, lilac and several 60 year old rhododendrons.
The home and original carriage house from the turn of the century are set back from the road on one and a quarter acres of park-like grounds, with a formal garden, extensive lawns, a vegetable garden, dozens of flowering trees and shrubs, as well as meandering paths, interesting nooks and crannies and hilltop views of two historic churches and the surrounding valley.
Guest Rooms:
All rooms are furnished with antiques, crown moldings, have queen size beds, luxurious linens, Molten Brown of London toiletries, robes, irons/ironing boards, telephones, hairdryers & off street parking.
Additional amenities include: WiFi, an extensive DVD library of over 850 titles, an Antique & garden shop, & a bookshop on premises specializing in local, art and history titles.
Breakfast:
All guests are treated to an extensive gourmet breakfast that can be enjoyed in the dining room or garden.
Antique Garden Shop:
The original carriage house is now Angel House Antiques, devoted to late-19th and early 20th century china, clocks, furniture, historical art and silver. Russell, an avid collector, has been dealing in antiques since 2000.
Bookstore:
Specializing in local, art and history titles, the bookshop also features books and films created and published by Lynx Images, a company started by Russell in 1988 that has produced and/or published more than 40 Canadian history books, and 14 award winning historical documentaries.
